Work hard and stop worrying about the results: A Message from Shrimad Bhagavad Gita
The Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is the conviction of universal truth. Its 700 verses are not only a doctrine of principles but also reflect the righteous actions in thoughts and beliefs. The chapters such as Sankhya Yoga, The Book of Doctrines or Self-exploration, Karma yoga, Virtue in Work or Selfless Service, Jñāna–Karma-Sanyasa yoga, The Religion of Knowledge or Wisdom in Action and many more freeze the human dilemma and explain the variety of philosophical concepts to pursue the right action. One of the learning in The Gita proclaims that “You must try to manage yourself” reaches the level of excellence.
To
me, the excellence in learning is the life transformation journey which is
beyond the bookish knowledge. As lot of readings give a different perspective
to human life to its action and behavior but what I have learnt from The Gita
is, that it is not only the religion book, it gives the way to live and explore
the excellence in work. In this materialistic world, every mind has confusions
as “What to do?” or “What not to do?”, “To be” or “Not to be”. As Krishna plays
a role of facilitator and empowers Arjun to pursue the right direction.
Similarly learning from Gita gives you the outlook to perform the louder action
through excellence and clear mind set. Every person should understand that they
are powerful in some meaning.
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि।।2.47।।
That means: You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of actions. Never consider yourself for the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to not doing your duty”. The above-mentioned verse 2.47 of the Gita advises “detachment” from the fruits or results of actions performed in the course of one's duty. Being dedicated work has to mean “working for the sake of work, generating excellence for its own sake.” (wiki) The confusions, dilemmas and conundrums are shorter than you. So, stop worrying about the results and always strive for excellence rather than perfection.
